Africa time... Todd loves it, I hate it, and I'm pretty sure almost ALL AFRICANS LIVE BY IT!

Okay, so the last few days have been almost useless! haha! We've made plans with people and waited, and waited, and waited... and I think 70% of everything we try to do out here is either ridiculously late or totally cancelled... with no communication! Arg! So anyways, we didn't end up going out to see the street children the other night, Ezra's vehicle got impounded just because it was an SUV and the military are doing this huge 'stolen car search' across Kigali... so they are taking hundreds of SUVs off the road and just taking them... the drivers must rely on cabs or feet while the military take their sweet time! (I can't believe they can do that! TIA as they say out here (that is Africa!). So yesterday Bryan and I ended up waiting the entire day until we finally decided at 7:00 to go do something... anything! So we decided to try to find a place to rent a movie... we managed to find a place with a bunch of downloaded and burned movies... we picked a Tom Cruise collection! haha! Almost all the movies on the dvd where scratched beyond watching ability, but Mission Impossible 1 only had a few glitches. So we watched a little of Tommy until Gigi got home. Now on a more serious note... we all need to really pray for Gigi (especially the people who know her) It's unfortunate that I am unable to give many details on a public Blog like this because it's a bit sensitive, but I believe in a very active and talkative Holy Spirit... so as God leads... But anyways, Gigi came after our movie and we had to have a serious talk about some of the things that had happened with the family and us. She shared deep things that where on her heart and to be honest, it kinda wrecked me... I really understand when Paul says rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn... My heart was broken for Gigi and I cannot believe what a strong woman she is. I'm still, almost 24 hours later, on the verge of tears... please pray her her... she is so strong... I cannot believe how strong she is!

Today has been a bit better... we watched Mission Impossible 2 this morning (laptops are great!) and then went in town with Gigi and Bryan... we did a little shopping and went to a nice little café and got ice cream and juice and mini pizzas... (we spoiled our selfs a bit today)... the cool thing though is meeting a huge group of Muzungues! (whities) Turns out they are a group from Saddleback Church in the states (Rick Warren's Church) If anyone doesn't know who Rick Warren is, he is a pastor who wrote a book called 'Purpose Driven Life' and 'Purpose Driven Church' and probably some other books I'm sure... but he's a very well respected figure within the evangelical church community. Anyways, the point of me going on about this is Rick Warren has decided to spend the next few years coming to Rwanda to work directly with a bunch of the churches. (rural and urban) A few of my friends are actually apart of the committee in charge of getting him here! Anyways, I met and spoke to one of the pastors in the group of white people and turns out he's one of the pastors at the church. We only had a few moments to talk but he said that if I come to the stadium tomorrow that he will get me a chance to meet Rick Warren! I AM SO GOING! haha! The cool thing about the government here is they will put every effort to make it as easy as possible for religious leaders and teachers to come into the country... opening up the countries stadium so he can publicly preach and teach... advertisements on every government building! Just amazing!

So yeah, I'm really looking forward to meeting him, I hope it's more then just a 'hi, bye' thing... but even that will be a blessing! So that is kinda the plan for tomorrow, church from 8-12 (yeah, four hours!) then at 2:00, Rick Warren at the stadium. Then for supper Gigi, and I are going to take Bryan to that fancy Italian place for supper. (the one with the garden and the buzz in gate!) So that will be really nice... then monday we pack and have a worship night on monday night... then Tuesday we leave... Bryan for London for a day and me to South Africa for 2 weeks! wow... fast eh?

I think that's pretty much all I have to say... I really am missing many of you... I was thinking of Worshipping with Donovan last night as I was trying to go to sleep... and strange, but I even miss working! haha! It'll be good to get back and prepare to come out here for longer... I definitely now know feel and know that this trip was the perfect amount of time. I really sense a closure to this trip and feel almost ready for everything I will have to do to prepare for a longer stay! So Exciting! Anyways, God Bless! Love you all!

Joshua

Hey Josh, One of my favorite

Hey Josh,

One of my favorite passages of scripture is Col.1:9-14...verse 11 in particular is important to remember. I am praying for both you and Gigi (I don't know her but the Holy Spirit does). May Jesus continue to be your centre & your strength as He leads you on the journey.

Trish :O)

PS: When you get back, I hope you & Bryan will have an opportunity to share in more detail the work that God is doing in Rwanda. I would love to hear more! Be safe as you both travel, take care!
